March & April Favorites

March and April were full of lip action! I’ve been rocking dark lips for months and I’m pretty much over it. I was on the hunt for some great lippes and other amazing makeup necessities. I found some great products:

One word to describe these - LIFE! That’s exactly what they give me. They are everything that the reviews say they are. So intensely pigmented without the feeling of being too dry! Some of the best matte liquid lipsticks I’ve tried. I only touched up my lips after eating. In my opinion, ABH has some of the most quality products in the beauty industry!

Again, you can’t go wrong with ABH. I’m not a gloss wearing gal but this one has made an exception to the rule. It’s everything like the liquid lipstick but not matte. I also noticed it was more creamier too. I'm not sure if it was the color or the lip gloss that I just so happened to have, but it smelled really good too! :)

Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in “Outlaw” | Kat Von D
Kat Von D has great liquid lipsticks as well.  Now, I will say that Kat Von D has a wider variety of colors from blues to greens to oranges - which is great for a more dramatic look. I have a few of her other colors and I love them just as much as the ABHs.

There is nothing like a good nude… lipstick that is! This lipstick goes on great - smooth, creamy and consistent. Great for your everyday look.

Night Calming Makeup Removing Wipes | Neutrogena
Neutrogena has the best makeup remover wipes I have ever used! I've used different brands from drugstore to high end  and these are the best. I have been using the original ones for a while now, which are the ones in the blue packaging. I wanted to give these a shot just because. They get the job done just like all the other wipes for Neutrogena wipes. After a day of full face makeup, I can remove the majority of my makeup with one wipe including waterproof mascara. The only difference is that Night Calming wipes have a lavender scent to them - which helps you sleep better. Great drugstore product for under $10.

Translucent Loose Setting Powder | Laura Mercier
I was super hesitant about this powder or any translucent powder for the simple fact that it tends to wash me out. What I mean is for deep and dark skin tones, some powders can make the skin look chalky, dry or white if it's applied too heavy or incorrectly.

I have figured out to correctly achieve this look. I apply this product on my t-zone (which is your forehead, down your nose and chin) because it can get pretty oily throughout the day. I use the "baking" or "cooking" technique for about a minute or less so I won't looked washed out and my face is still set. This works really well for me. No matter what your skin tone is, setting your face blends everything together and makes your makeup smooth and last longer. You just have to find the best technique for you.
